Safety Officers
Professional, experienced Safety Consultants that will be able to commence duties at the premises of the client, whether it is for one day or seven days a week.
The Safety Consultant will evaluate the current Occupational Health and Safety system of the client and by recommendations has to improve and maintain the safety system and insure the maintenance thereof by management as well as by employees. The Health and Safety plan will be constructed as to comply with legislation and to adapt to clients company procedures.
Duty’s that a Safety Consultant will perform while visiting the premises of a client will include:
- Promote occupational health and safety within the organization and develop safer and healthier ways of working.
- Inspect machinery and equipment, such as lifting devices, machine guards, scaffolding, office equipment and ergonomics to make sure they meet safety regulations.
- Make sure that personal protective equipment, such as dust masks, safety glasses, footwear and safety helmets, is being used in workplaces according to regulations.
- Make sure that dangerous materials are correctly stored.
- Identify and test work areas for potential accident and health hazards, such as toxic fumes and hazardous working conditions (broken handrails, tiles, slippery floors, insufficient ventilation, poor lighting, ext), and implement appropriate control measures.
- Make sure that the organization is aware of, and complies with, all legislation in relation to the use of its equipment and substances, as well as in all workplace activities.
- Help supervise the investigation of accidents and unsafe working conditions, study possible causes and recommend remedial action.
- Ensure that all incidents are thoroughly investigated to avoid re-occurrence.
- Conduct training sessions for management, supervisors and workers on health and safety practices and legislation, including safety induction for all client employees every six months (induction will also be given to new employees).
- Assist with the rehabilitation of workers after accidents or injuries and make sure they experience a satisfactory return to work.
- Co-ordinate emergency procedures.
- Communicate frequently with management to report on the status of the occupational health and safety program.
- Promote a culture in the company in which health and safety are the prime concerns and will never be compromised.
- Promote the involvement of all employees in improving health and safety.
- Focus on the elimination of unsafe acts and rectify unsafe conditions.
- Ensuring that all involved personnel, prior to the commencement of any work, complete a Risk Assessment or a Daily Safety Task Instruction. Then, by a review process, verifying that the development process is appropriate, communicated and understood by the users and subsequently complied with.
- Conduct audits as to the requirements of the client as well as periodic audits to maintain the Health and Safety Standards of the Company.
